What we do

Event Mechanics is an event services company that supports corporates, event production companies, ad agencies, incentive companies and travel centres with project assistance, from management of the full event to smaller bite-size aspects of the overall project. We focus on events for a corporate or business audience including business talks, conferences, gala dinners, awards ceremonies, networking events, product launches, golf days as well as team builds or family fun days. We also have experience in creating income producing events for NGO’s or Associations with a focus on content or speaker. We have offices in the United Kingdom and South Africa.

- EU Informal Summit: building a media centre and handling venue logistics for the event duration (Malta, 2017)
- CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting): setting up and managing the media centre for 3500 journalists and running press briefings (multiple at the same time) on 2 sites, working with Globecast getting content live to the media centre (Malta, 2015)
- Valetta Summit on Migration: setting up 2 main media centres including TV rooms, Radio Rooms, Live Positions etc (Malta, 2015)
- BMW International Top Dealership Incentive Trip: managing VIP guest’s communication and travel logistics (2014)
- Confederation Cup Games: logistics management of VIPS for Engen (2009)
- Snocombers Celeb Ski Week: managing all logistics, events and co-ordination of 180 guests, including celebrities (Austria, 2011)
- AABLA (All Africa Business Leaders Awards): project management of teams on the ground in Nigeria, Rwanda and South Africa for CNBC Africa (televised), consulting to ABN Productions (2014)
- The Daily Mavericks Gathering event with top political personalities, activists and journalists (2013)
- Women’s Legacy Dialogue: conference with heads of business & government to discuss the role of women in business (2005)
- Organisation of Charity Gala Dinners for between 500 and 700 people on an annual basis for Noah (Nurturing Orphans of Aids for Humanity) with speakers like Gill Marcus, Danny Glover & Vikas Swarup (raising over R9 million over 10 years for this NGO)
- City of Joburg: Launch of Urban Development Zone - tax incentives for inner city property owners and developers (2005)
- National Symphony Orchestra Concert: full organization, with over 1000 guests hosted on the roof of a designer shopping centre
- Afrika Tikkun’s Got Talent, Mandela Day event for 2500 people in Johannesburg and 1000 in Cape Town (2014-15, 2017)
- Bayer Management Conference (2015, 2016 & 2017)
- Viacom’s Nickelodeon NickFest (Jo’burg 2017) & Slime Fest (Durban, 2017), Project Assistance and VIP Management
- Bayer Family Fun Day, 200 pax incl. children, under the theme “Science is Fun!” (2015 & 2016)
- Technology Think Tank, broadcast on CNBC Africa, with leading South African tech experts (2011)
- Pfizer Mental Wellness Roadshow, 220 pax in Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg & Pretoria (2014)
- Ticketed Events: organisation of 3 to 8 corporate breakfasts per month, with local and international speakers, for between 200 and 700 delegates
- Guest, VIP, Artist & RSVP Management for multiple events throughout Africa including Discovery (Leadership Challenge), MTN (Y’ello Stars 2007-2013), AVCA, Bank Seta, Standard Bank (Joy of Jazz & CT International Jazz Festival), Nedbank & Old Mutual (Budget Speech), Pfizer (Mental Wellness Roadshow) and more

Angela has 25 years experience in the realms of Event Management, VIP Guest Relations, Database & Communication Management as well as Marketing, Public Relations & Promotions. She has a Conference, Exhibition & Event Management Diploma as well as a partly completed BCOM in Marketing & Business Management. Angela has worked internationally on Commonwealth & European Union events.
